The One with the Blessings here in El Parron!

 NOVEMBER 9, 2016

This week was AMAZING!!! We really are starting to see the fruits of our labors here in this ward. This week we did A LOT of contacting and searching for new people to teach. We dropped nearly all of our investigadores because we didnt have any progressing. It was sad but we knew that we could be spending out time better. This week we made it a goal to invite everyone to church. On Sunday we had 5 people come to church!! There were both inv and menos activos. It was a mini miracle! I know that god answers and listens to our prayers (2 Nephi 32:8-9). It was such a great Sunday and was a day of happiness. Also on that same day we had so many new investigadores and talked with so many people on the street. It was a day full of smiles and the Spirit. We have been fasting and praying to see some success in this ward and our sector and we are really starting to see it! I shared my testimony in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday about the Libro de Mormon. I honestly LOVE the LDM and now it changes lives. If you arent reading it every day, I strongly encourage you to do so. I know it will lift your spirits and change your life.
This week we had interviews with the President and Hermana Gwilliam. It was nice to meet with them one on one and just talk about my feelings here in the mission. I told them that I never want to leave and that I want to be a missionary forever. They smiled and laughed a bit and just said that my mom might get mad at them if they let that happen. :) It was pretty funny!
So about a week ago we made a contact with a man named Michaud. He was walking on the street and I looked at my companion and told her I wanted to talk to him. She agreed and we crossed the street to talk to him. HE was very enthusiastic and liked our positive attitude. We gave him a folleto and took down his information. On Monday of this week we got a call from him. He told us that he read the folleto and wanted to meet with us right away. We were off to visit him that day. While we were there, he had a friend named Celio. HE seemed interested and so we asked him if he wanted to hear the message too. He said yes and we began teaching them Lesson 3 about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The lesson was so powerful and they really were interested. They had many questions and comments throughout the entire lesson. In the end we committed them BOTH to baptism!!! It was a miracle! We have been praying so fervently and fasting to find someone and be able to invite them to the waters of baptism. Our prayers were answered and it was doubled! We have 2! It was an answer and gift from our Heavenly Father for sure. I saw the light of Christ in their eyes as we were teaching them and it was brighter than the sun. The mission really is the best thing in the world. To see the light of Christ in others is the most beautiful sight of all. I know that God will always answer us. At times it is not right away and it takes time. Sometimes we need to work hard, learn patience, and keep pressing forward. I am learning all of these things here in Chile more than ever before.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is real! HE loves us individually and has a plan for each one of us. HE is loving and kind. God is our Father and we are all his Children. Being in the mission and helping other children come unto Him and Jesus Christ is the only thing I want to be doing right now. It is marvelous.

So we have a new rule in the mission that we cant leave the mission for Pday. Our mission is the 2nd smallest in the world and it only takes like 20 minutes in a car to travel from point A to point B. So every pday we are just gonna eat food and play sports I guess. We got shirts in our Zone and today watched Lion King and had a waterballoon fight. It was pretty fun, but nothing is more fun that teaching the Gospel so I am ready for tomorrow.

I love you all so much! Keep praying and never loose faith!

Until next week,

The One with Halloween!

NOVEMBER 2, 2016
So I really don't have much to say this week. I was sick almost the entire week!! For Halloween I spent the day in my bed sleeping and reading my scriptures. My companion was sick last week and this week was my turn. It is bound to happen that both companions get sick when we are together all the time! It was terrible. I woke up yesterday so much better though!! It was an answer to prayers to help me feel strong and healthy. Though it was hard and boring in the house, I was able to organize the entire apartment and clean. It was a good reminder of how when the house is in order and clean, the Spirit can reside with more ease.
So we had a Zone Conference this week and it was so uplifting. We had a member speak about how we should teach the gospel..... with ENTHUSIASM!! When he started talking about how important it is to always be smiling and happy and positive, all the Hermanas and President turned and looked at me. President then said ¨This is you!!¨ lololol. All the Hermanas were saying how I am the most positive and happy Hermana here. I started to giggle and just nodded my head and said ¨Everything is Easier with a smile¨. Of course at this moment I thought of my sweet mom who taught me that saying and this principle in life. I encourage everyone to look at the glass half full. It makes this easier and more bearable. The mission is hard, but rewarding. Sometimes the only thing we can do it be positive and say lots of prayers.
This is what I learned this week and will continue to learn in my life. I love it here in Chile and the people I am, serving with. I love my sweet companion Hermana Ruiz. She is Colombian and EVERYONE says that I have a Colombian accent! It is  awesome and so much better than a gringa accent!
Keep smiling and praying! Love you all so much!!!!

The One with the Italian Night

OCTOBER 26, 2016
Hello everyone,

I dont have much to write this week because well nothing really happened. It was a week full of contacting and lessons that fell through. We had lessons fall through every day this week. It has been one of the hardest weeks in the mission! We didnt have many lessons or success this week at all. It was a bit of a set back and definitely was early to fell let down and just sad... but that is not who I am! I am a positive person and one who loves to look for the good in all things. I decided to put a smile on my face and told my companion that we were just gonna let the happy moment role and push forward. She wasnt too excited about my attitude but I dragged her along anyway. Though this week was hard and didnt have that much success, it was a week full of spiritual growth. I hgave really learned this week to just trust in the Lord with all my heart. I know that if I do my best, the Lord will do the rest.
This last Friday we had a huge Italian Night with the Ward. We had soooo many Menos Activos and Investigatores come! It was a mini miracle in my eyes. We ate, watched the youth dance, and talked. It was a great night and the Investigadores and Menos Activos were able to have some fun with the members and us of course. I know that because I turned around my attitude, I was able to see this little tender mercy in my life. It was a beautiful thing to see that when we are positive and have faith that Chist will do his part, we can see the results!!
Okay so after the first 12 weeks there is ALWAYS a change in companions. It ios when we are no longer in our training and we are considered normal missionaries lol. Well yesterday was changes and guess what..... I DIDNT HAVE CHANGES!!! I don't really no why but President told us he felt we needed to be together longer and that El Parron (our ward) needed us. Soooo yeah I am still with my companion and I am pretty happy about it. President told us that we probably will not be together a whole other change but he will change us in the middle.. it is super strange and sooo not normal, but oh well. I know that President Gwilliam receives inspiration directly from God and I have total faith in him and in the Lord. So we are just here in El Parron and working hard. I am hoping to see some more progress with our Investigadores and of course I am remaining positive!

I love you all so much and hope all is well. Oh and Happy Halloween on Monday!! Eat lots of candy and rot your teeth!! Remember to stay positive always even when it is hard. When you feel to weak to stand, kneel.

I am always praying for all of you!!! Love you all!!
