The One with the New Year....2017!

JANUARY 5, 2017

Hello Family and Friends!

I hope that you all had the best Christmas and new Year. I cannot believe that we are now in 2017. Time is flying way to fast! It makes my heart race and I get all nervous when I really think about it! This week was great! We had dinner for New Years Eve with a family here in the ward and we had so much fun. But... the greatest thing about this week is that we were able to meet with our sweet investigator Catalina and confirm her baptism!! She is getting baptized on Saturday January 7!!!! We are so excited and so it she! I know that she is ready and I couldn't be more happy for her! What a great way to start off the New Year!
With this is mind, I hope that this year is the best year for everyone! I know that I am going to have a great one here in the mission... and I am pretty sure all of my friends will too because most of them are getting engaged or married... But this year really can be the greatest one yet! Make it the greatest one yet! We have the power to do so because it all has to do with our attitudes and thoughts! Keep smiling and pressing forward. I love you all so much and hope to keep hearing from you all!

Love you all!!

Until next week,
Hermana Cribbs

The One Between Christmas and New Years

DECEMBER 28, 2016

This week was crazy!!! All we did all week was activities for Christmas and got ready for the big day. I was able to Skype with my sweet family! My mom is looking great and my siblings are huge and of course my dad is still cracking jokes! It was the best but also shortest hour and a half of my life!! But all is well and I feel so much better now that I was able to see the beautiful faces of my family. Christmas here was filled with love and the Spirit, just the way it should be! I really don't have much to write but I will send a lot of pictures!!

Love you all!

The One with 6 Months and a Merry Christmas!

DECEMBER 21, 2016

Hello my dearest family and friends,

This week was insane!!!! I said goodbye to my companion, Hermana IbaƱez. She went home to Argentina and saying goodbye to her was one of the hardest things I have had to do here in the mission! She had more charity than anyone I have ever met. She was an angel for me and I learned so much from here. I just feel lucky h}to have been her companion and her friend. BUUUUUT that means I got a new companion named Hermana Oliveira! She is from Brazil and just the cutest. Actually we lived together when I first came to the mission and so we are already friends. I am really happy with her and am excited to work with her in our sector. I am still in my first ward and probably will be for 4 more weeks. I am happy where I am but at the same time I am ready to see and experience new things.
This week we had some powerful lessons. In all of them we just shared our testimonies of the Savior. We taught a lesson about Christmas and the true meaning it has. I love the mission and I think my favorite part is just sharing my faith and testimony about my Savior, Jesus Christ. My testimony of him is honestly what holds it all together. When I have the chance to share my feelings about Jesus Christ, I am filled with warmth in my heart and nearly am brought to tears because I am just filled with love and gratitude. In this time of Christmas it is time to remember Him and to focus on Him. Here in the mission I have the privilege to share His Gospel and hopefully share His light. What an Honor to be able to do so and to do it with joy. The mission is exactly that.. joyous. I am so lucky.. so lucky to have my plaque and to be His Sister Missionary!
Also this week we have done a lot of contacting! One day we contacted a street for nearlty 2 hours and knocked on almost every single door. Only talked to 3 people!! We were feeling down and a little distressed and also hot! IT IS SO HOT HERE ANS I AM SO BURNT!!! The sun here burns my skin so we are always like playing a game to find shade lol. But anyway, so at this point we were like ok one more door and it is going to be our miracle! We are going to knock on the brown door and they are gonna come out and we are going to talk to them. We were pumped and had the best attitudes that we could. We walked over to the house and knocked on the door. A little old lady came out and before I could even say a word she said "I am too busy!!!" AND SLAMMED THE DOOR IN OUR FACE!! hahahahaha I was dying! Just the fact that we were like this will be our miracle and then to have that experience.... i lost it and was laughing so hard. My companion was too!!! But I learned something form this moment. Sometimes we have so much faith, we have the right attitude, and we do everything right.... but sometimes it just doesn't go our way. God has a bigger and better plan. And just because we didn't have it got our way, doesn't mean we cant be happy. We need to keep smiling and pressing forward. We took that little experience as a sign that we needed to leave and go to an activity with the stake and all the missionaries. At the activity we did some contacts... lol more contacts... but we had so much success!! It was great and we met so many people! It was a blessing form the Lord. Sometimes we have to get a door slammed in our face to realize that there are so many others wide open!
I hope you all have the best Christmas ever and remember that it is all about Jesus Christ. Not about presents, food, the tree, the snow, or anything else. It is about Jesus Christ our Savior and our families. I love you all with my heart and soul. Hope that all is well and all is happy!!

I love you and FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!!

The One with all the Goodbyes!

DECEMBER 14, 2016

So these past two weeks my companion has been visiting her past wards and saying goodbyes because she returns to Argentina on Tuesday! Soo we have been saying a lot of goodbyes to everyone! It has been kind of rough for me because I only have 5 months in the mission..... LOL. But at the same time it makes me realize that I am so lucky to still have time in the mission! I love the mission and don't want to leave so I am happy here.
So this week we had so much happen. These past two weeks we have pretty much just done contacting and trying to find new people, haven't had too much luck, but thats ok, in the Lord´s time. But we have had so many funny experiences! One day we were looking for a lady who we had talked to a few weeks past and we decided to look for her again. When we got to the house she and her mom we outside. Her mom was pretty scary and came right up to my face and asked me what I believed in. I told her that we believe in our Savior Jesus Christ and we are here to share His Gospel with everyone. She went off! She told us that we weren't real hijas de Dios and that we didn't accept our Savior. She told us that we were liars and dont have testimonies. Then all of a sudden she got right in our faces and screamed " I know about your white tunics underneath your clothes!!!! " LOLOLOLOLOL I lost it and was cracking up! We both were. Well first we were confused but once we left and turned the sorner we lost it. Oh my goodness! Then the next day we made a contact with a Jehova Witness. She told us to call Dios Jehova and she got mad at us because we didn't and we called Him Heavenly Father! It was also so funny because this little old lady was yelling at us because we called God the wrong name and we wouldn't change it. WOW some people are so funny!
But this week we also put 2 dates of Reactivation for inactive members! It was great and we had some wonderful lessons with them! We also got a new Bishop in the Ward! I am so excited because I have the best relationship with the family and he is super excited about Obra de Misional. Well that is what happened this week. I will try to write more next week and send pics cause I don't have any!
I love you all so much!!
